Any reschedules or late cancellations for any reason, including but not limited to illness, within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will be charged a $25 fee. For appointments with Kari Harris, a $50 late cancellation fee will apply. No shows (failing to attend an appointment without notifying the clinic prior to the scheduled start time of your appointment) will be billed at the full cost of your booked appointment. With repeated late cancels the fee will be increased to the full cost of the missed appointment. This charge cannot be billed to insurance providers and must be paid before booking your next visit. For illness or COVID related issues restricting in-person attendance you may switch to a virtual visit to continue your care and to avoid a fee.

Growing up, Alyssa was always been heavily involved in sports and rehabilitation, which has influenced her in choosing to become a Physical Therapist. Alyssa enjoys being able to empower others to both move, and feel better. Alyssa enjoys working with people of all ages, ranging from infants to adult and senior populations, in a hands-on, and active approach. I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist who enjoys working with both adolescents and adults in a genuine, safe and non-judgemental environment. I approach counselling with empathy, a sense of humour and a desire to empower clients so that they are able to build life-long skills and knowledge that will enable them to be masters of their own mental health. My approach is person centered and integrative with specialization in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. Because of my years of experience with coaching and teaching, my sessions include a great deal of psychoeducation with hopes to empower clients to be their own advocates and to build the resiliency they require to be successful in life.

Dr. Erika B Persson, MD, FRCPC, Dip Sport Med Pediatrician and Pediatric Sport Medicine Physician

Dr. Persson completed her medical degree at the University of Alberta in 2005 and followed this with her Pediatric Residency at the University of Alberta and Stollery Children’s Hospital in 2009. She then went on to complete her Pediatric Sport Medicine Fellowship at the University of Manitoba as the first fellow in the first and only Canadian Pediatric Sport Medicine Training program. She holds her diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Dr. Persson has a special interest in performing arts medicine and asthetic sports including dance, gymnastics and figure skating. Dr. Persson’s own sporting history is in dance and she has performed internationally with Royal Caribbean Cruises and also taught dance to children and adults. She is currently a barre fitness instructor in her ‘free time’ and enjoys keeping an active healthy lifestyle. Dr. Persson has been part of numerous Team Canada Health Care teams including the most recent 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea; the 2016 Youth Winter Olympic Games in Norway and the 2015 and 2017 editions of the FISU Universiade games. She has also been sponsored medical for the last 3 Canada Games. She is also a Team Physician for Skate Canada and works with elite national figure skaters travelling internationally numerous times per year.

Dr. Persson is an Associate Clinical Professor in General Pediatrics at the University of Alberta, Departments of Pediatrics and Family Medicine. She is very excited to be able to provide sport medicine services to the patients of Summerside Children’s and Sport Physiotherapy Clinic!
